This post is brought to you by the fact that I finally got Kindle unlimited. All covers are linked to the amazon page. I will be using affiliate links so please use them if you can because I spend way too much time on this blog rather than my actual job.

Gilded Cage by Nicole Fox

The night we met, she thought she was tasting freedom. I devoured her once and left before I even knew her name.

Four months later, Bratva business leads me to the house of my enemy with one objective: Burn it down and kill everyone inside.

That’s exactly what I plan to do…Until I find her cowering before me. The innocent girl from the club. My beautiful caged bird.

I’m not here to save her—I’m here to ruin her. But something stops me in my tracks. Something I never expected.

Did she say that’s my baby in her womb?

This was the equivalent of reading a well-done wattpad fanfiction. The writing was…written, I guess. If toxic men, enemies-to-lovers, or arranged marriage is your thing, then have at it because this will hit the spot. It’s an easy read and serves as a good book for in-between heavier reads. I feel like this could’ve been way better if the author had taken the time to look more into Mexican & Russian customs/culture. I gave this only 2 stars because it was too long…usually I can knock these books out in a couple of days but a lot of the ending felt unnecessary & I really had to push through to finish.

Prey by L.V. Lane (Omega Prey #1)

I am prey. This is not pity talking, this is an acknowledgment of a fact. I am small and weak; I am an Omega. I am a prize that men war over.

For a year I have hidden in the distant corner of the Empire. But I am running out of food, and I am running out of options. That I must leave soon is not a decision for today, though, but a decision for tomorrow.

Only tomorrow’s choices never come. For tonight brings strangers who remind me that I am prey.

Ok, I was not expecting that. Reverse-harem-omega-smut that’s extremely well written and is part of a 7 part series????? My only complaint is some of the *cough* scenes are hard to follow because it’s four people, then five. It also had a simple yet effective plot that kept the pace of the book. Also, I gave this a maximum spicy rating because once it starts it does not stop…

Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon

You’d think being abducted by aliens would be the worst thing that could happen to me. And you’d be wrong. Because now, the aliens are having ship trouble, and they’ve left their cargo of human women – including me – on an ice planet.

And the only native inhabitant I’ve met? He’s big, horned, blue, and really, really has a thing for me…

Ok, so if you’re on booktok you already know about this one. I wasn’t expecting much. I was expecting another polished wattpad vibe. However, I was surprised when it was of a somewhat higher quality than that. Still, out of these three books, the second one definitely had the best writing. This one wasn’t necessarily bad, it just at times felt very juvenile…

One of the reviews I read said, “georgie is getting dicked down while her friends are all wasting away!! it was stressing me tf out!!” and that about sums up how I felt about this book because I cannot stand when we get a main character who is built up as smart and brave immediately going back on that because oooo a boy…and even if that boy is a giant blue alien man, I think this reasoning still holds.

It goes without saying but please always, especially when it comes to books like these, check your trigger warnings before reading.

Have you fallen victim to Booktok or the unholiness that is adult kindle unlimited?
